Transforming Healthcare Infrastructure: WPH Scales to AWS Cloud for a Limitless Future

Transitioning to AWS Cloud: Laying the Foundation for Modern Healthcare

WPH chose AWS as a world-class Cloud Provider with direct infrastructure located in the Bangkok Region. This ensures low latency, domestic data residency, and a level of scalability that no On-Premise system can match, serving as the ideal solution for both today and the long term.

WPH has migrated its entire HIS system to the AWS Asia Pacific (Bangkok) Region, making it one of the first Thai healthcare organizations to fully utilize the Cloud to drive its core business systems. The AWS infrastructure deployed includes:

Reseller Network
Amazon EC2

For processing and running critical application systems.

Reseller Network
Amazon S3

For enterprise-level data storage.

Reseller Network
Amazon Elastic
Block Store (EBS)

For high-stability data storage.

Reseller Network
Amazon CloudWatch

For real-time system monitoring and inspection.

Reseller Network
AWS VPN

To ensure secure network connectivity.

The entire operation complies with HIPAA security standards and has received ISO certification to protect patient data at the highest level. The infrastructure features End-to-End Encryption, rigorous Access Control, and Continuous Security Monitoring. Prior to the official launch, WPH conducted comprehensive system testing to confirm cost-effectiveness and total readiness.

This project achieved success through the collaboration of SiS Distribution (Thailand) PCL, the Official Distributor of AWS in Thailand—providing comprehensive consulting, planning, and technical support—alongside Total IT Solutions Co., Ltd., a partner of SiS that managed the installation and coordination at every stage.

Furthermore, WPH prioritizes Sustainability by utilizing AWS Cloud to track and improve its environmental impact, aligning with the organization's sustainable business practices.

Enhancing Service Efficiency and the Patient Experience

Migrating the core system to AWS Cloud is not merely an IT infrastructure change; it directly impacts medical service efficiency. A more stable and responsive system allows medical personnel to access patient records quickly and accurately, leading to more efficient diagnoses and medical decision-making.

Automation running on AWS infrastructure also reduces paperwork and administrative burdens, minimizing delays in various processes and allowing staff to focus entirely on patient care.

In the future, WPH plans to further apply AI and Machine Learning technologies on AWS to support the development of operational systems, data management, and the continued enhancement of medical service efficiency.
